Anyone familiar with Holiday Rambler Traveler ?

2003 Holiday Rambler Traveler 28 RB - Just saw one of these listed for sale with 16,000 miles and Ford Chassis. Listing says 28ft, and looks like Safari trek like floorplan with bed that drops down. Just curious if anyone had any experience with this particular model, especially about the ride and handling. The listing shows they are looking for 39,000. Thanks in advance.

RE: Super C? Why?

I think it must have something to do with the towing weights. Every Super C I have seen on the highway has had a very large enclosed trailer in tow.

RE: dangerous toy!!! please read folks

Thank you for bringing this to everyone's attention. We forwarded it to everyone we could think of. Best Wishes for you and your dog.

RE: Hershey Pa. RV Show Question?

I agree with the previous post. The deals did seem very good if you get lucky and what you want happens to be sitting there. It is also a good way to talk to dealers who are not all local. We were talking to a Tiffin dealer from near Niagra Falls. Good Luck

RE: Help, thinking of buying a 30 ft class A gas

We have been looking for smaller Class A's also, and there doesn't seem to be to many options at the 30ft size. Even if a company has a floorplan in that size, dealers don't seem to have them on the lot. Good Luck in your search.

Always nice to see a story like that.

RE: New family member

Congrats and enjoy your new pup. We currently have 2 Cavaliers (and 1 Saint Bernard) and they are fantastic dogs.

RE: Rhino Liner the roof?

Wouldn't that add a great deal of weight right at the highest point. Also might be an issue with that stuff baking in the sun all day.

RE: This is too cute

What a great idea. I think I'll make one for our Saint Bernard.

RE: what kind of rv to full time in?

I would keep it, delay the decision. After a year or two you will have a better feel for what you need to full-time. Enjoy your retirement.

RE: Home alone or the Kennel?

I think a dog is better off at home, but it seems like the dog would need more than one visit a day. I would also be nervous about a dog going outside alone, but I am in an area of NJ where black bears regularly roam through. If you do the kennel route, check it out thoroughly in advance. They are definetly not all the same.

RE: RV related, but not in the literal sense.

I wouldn't do it. You would still have the payment, plus the payment for the lot. I'm sure your insurance would go up once they find out it is a rental. No one would probably take care of the unit as well as you would. It would also age that much faster with someone living in it full time, which would hurt if you did decide to sell it later. On top of that you would have the standard rentor problems of people calling you for any maintenance. Good Luck

RE: How many of you are

We have been in a seasonal site for about 5 years and it has been great. It really was an accident that worked out. We found a nice fifth wheel and had it delivered to campground before truck was ready. Had no end of trouble with the truck, so got rid of it but kept seasonal spot. We even traded to a bigger 5th wheel knowing it would really be a second home, and probably never be towed. It is nice to know it is always there and ready for a weekend.

RE: Ahhhh---man!!!

I would start looking at fairly local campgrounds. We found the perfect 5'er on the way home from a weekend away. Dealer agreed to hold it until we could pick it up. I found a truck, and a seasonal campsite about 45 minutes from home. Dealer then recommended a professional transport. Had no end of trouble with truck, even before hitch went in. I got rid of the truck, kept the seasonal site. Even traded in on bigger 5th wheel, which has acted as a great second home. Not how I planned it, but worked out great. Good Luck

RE: Expedition or Durango?

I have a 04 Expedition and it has been great. We also have 3 dogs (1 is a St. Bernard) so we had the second row seats removed. It only took about a 1/2 hour. Easy entry for the dogs, still have 3rd row when needed for passengers. Just a consideration since you did mention dogs.

Off topic, but just wanted to say Thank You for your service. I don't think that gets said enough. Enjoy your retirement.

RE: "Small" (,30') A's?

I have had an eye out for a Class A in that size range and it is not easy. The Safari Trek looks nice, but has a drop down bed (no real bedroom) and seems a bit pricey. I think the Tiffin Allegro also comes in 28 and 30 foot models. Good Luck

RE: Smallest Class A on the market right now?

The smallest Class A I have come across is the Safari Trek. I think the shorter floorplan is 28 feet. The big compromise on that one is the bed drops down, and they also seem to be pretty expensive. Good Luck
